The present invention relates to the fabrication of a durable electrostatic printing plate (10). The electrostatic printing plate (10) includes a substrate (20) with an image receiving layer (22) applied thereto. The image receiving layer (22) includes a permanent pattern defined by an amorphous region (24) and a polycrystalline region (28).
