The present invention relates to a dust collecting apparatus for a paper money counter, comprising a base housing with a built-in filter, and air discharge and intake columns respectively installed on both sides of an upper side of the base housing, and forming an air curtain on the entire surface of the paper money counter to prevent scattering of pollutants and odor generated during a money counting operation, wherein the air curtain is formed by a blower built into said base housing and discharging air using an air circulation system through the air discharge and intake columns to prevent scattering of pollutants and odor and to collect dust at the same time, thereby lowering the overall height of the base housing. The dust collecting apparatus according to the present invention is convenient to use in the sitting position because of its low height, is safe because the dust collecting operation is performed under conditions where scattering of pollutants out of the counter is completely prevented through the air curtain system, is of a low-noise design because the dust collecting operation is performed using a sirocco fan type air blower which is compact in size but has high capacity, and maintains a more pleasant indoor environment with internal air circulation without annoying people in the vicinity of the paper money counter.
