Abstract:
Provided are: a dust removal device that retains dust removal capacity for a long period of time, is easy to maintain, and can be used at low cost; and a dust removal method. The present invention comprises a gravity-type dust collection means that uses gravity to make dust fall out of a gas that includes dust, a wet-type dust collection means that receives gas that has had the dust content thereof reduced by the gravity-type dust collection means and makes the gas pass through a liquid so as to remove the dust in the gas, and a suction means that is provided on an exhaust side of the wet-type dust collection means. The gravity-type dust collection means is, for example, configured from at least two gravity-type dust collection mechanisms that collect dust by guiding the gas from top to bottom and making dust fall out of the gas and that have a channel that guides the gas from bottom to top after dust has been collected therefrom, a channel that guides the gas from top to bottom being formed so as to narrow from top to bottom and so as to be capable of ejecting high-pressure gas downward from a narrow part that is on the bottom side.
