Abstract:
An anisotropic dye film of high dichroism. There is provided an anisotropic dye film having a cycle (d), ascribed to molecular lamination, of 3.445Å or less and a lamination length (L) of 105Å or more. Preferably, this anisotropic dye film exhibits a degree of orientation of molecular lamination axis of 85% or greater, having a thickness of 30 µm or less and is one produced by a wet film formation method. High dichroism is exhibited by possessing a molecular arrangement suitable for dichroic ratio development. Polarizing devices including this anisotropic dye film excel in heat resistance, light stability and polarization performance.
