Abstract:
Provided are a charging method and a charger. The method comprises: the charger determining, according to an identifier of a terminal, a charging protocol supported by the terminal (S102); the charger determining the type of the terminal according to the identifier of the terminal (S103); the charger determining a charging policy according to the type of the terminal, the remaining power and the supported charging protocol (S104); and the charger charging the terminal according to the charging policy (S105). It can be seen therefrom that, according to the method, a charging policy can be determined according to the type of a terminal, the remaining power and the supported charging protocol, and the terminal is charged according to the policy, wherein the policy includes a fast charge period and a slow charge period, thereby ensuring successful charging and prolonging the lifetime of a battery.
