Abstract:
Provided are a dynamic multi-level caching method and device. The method comprises the following steps: extracting the access time of an advanced function prior to the access time of a primary cache; adding the advanced function to a secondary cache; determining, in the unit of volume, whether the advanced function is enabled; and in response to the advanced function having been enabled, an I/O first accessing the advanced function in the secondary cache and then accessing the primary cache. By means of the method of the present invention, a turned-on/turned-off state of a secondary cache can be monitored in the unit of volume, particle sizes in the unit of volume are very small and very flexible, and when there are no advanced characteristics, an I/O directly enters a primary cache, such that processing procedures are greatly reduced, the performance is greatly improved, and the competitiveness of the product is improved.
