Abstract:
An earthquake monitoring device 10 comprises: a determination unit 11 that, if shaking is simultaneously observed at two or more observation points which are among observation points that are arranged highly densely and which are within a simultaneous earthquake determination time according to which the simultaneous occurrence of an earthquake can be assumed, determines whether there are two or more adjacent observation points at which the shaking was observed, such determination made for each of the two or more observation points at which the shaking was observed; and a calculation unit 12 that uses the observation results at the respective observation points that are adjacent, and calculates the epicenter and/or the scale of the earthquake.
