Abstract:
In this EGR system and diesel engine, damage to an impeller in a turbocharger compressor is prevented. This EGR system is provided with a turbocharger which comprises an expander and a compressor linked by a rotation shaft, a scrubber which, with a liquid, purifies a recycled gas which is part of the exhaust gas discharged from the expander, a demister which removes droplets contained in the recycled gas cleaned by the scrubber, an EGR blower which is arranged downstream of the demister in the recycled gas flow, and a silencer which is connected at one end in the rotation axis direction to the compressor and is connected at the other end in the rotation axis direction to the EGR blower, wherein the EGR blower is arranged on the other end side of the silencer in the rotation axis direction.
