Abstract:
This elastic wave device has a multilayer film, a piezoelectric film, and an IDT electrode. The multilayer film is configured by alternately layering a first layer and a second layer that has a higher acoustic impedance than that of the first layer. The piezoelectric film is located over the multilayer film, and allows Lamb waves of an A1 mode to propagate. The IDT electrode is located over the piezoelectric film, and excites the Lamb waves. Where x is a normalized thickness of the first layer and y is a normalized thickness of the second layer, the values of x and y may be located in the range where MaxPhase is 82.2° or higher in fig. 1 if the material of the piezoelectric film is an LT single crystal. If the material of the piezoelectric film is an LN single crystal, the values of x and y may be located in the range where MaxPhase is 83.4° or higher in fig. 2.
