Abstract:
Provided is an elastic wave device that can increase power resistance and is unlikely to have electrode damage caused by instantaneous application of power. The elastic wave device 1 comprises a piezoelectric substrate 2 and an IDT electrode 7 provided on the piezoelectric substrate 2. The IDT electrode 7 has a plurality of first and second electrode fingers 18, 19. When an elastic wave propagation direction is a first direction x and a direction that intersects the first direction x is a second direction y, a crossover area A in the IDT electrode 7 has: a central area B positioned in the center of the second direction y; and first and second edge areas C1, C2 arranged on both sides of the central area B in the second direction y. In the central area B, the first and second electrode fingers 18, 19 include an epitaxially grown alignment film. In the first edge area C1 and the second edge area C2, the first electrode finger 18 and the second electrode finger 19 have a section that does not include the alignment film.
