Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing an electric automobile with a fuel cell, that runs as an electric automobile within a frequently-traveled neighborhood short-distance range and runs long distance using a fuel cell while generating power. The solution provided for this problem is an electric automobile with a fuel cell, the electric automobile comprising a drive motor (1), a secondary storage battery (3), and a power feed port (8). The secondary storage battery (3) has a low capacity. The electric automobile further comprises: a compact fuel cell (6) that provides a constant, low output to charge the secondary storage battery (3); a switching operation means (5) that has a fuel cell ON mode, in which the compact fuel cell (6) generates power for the automobile to travel and stop while charging the secondary storage battery (3), and a fuel cell OFF mode, in which the automobile travels and stops without the compact fuel cell (6) generating power or charging the secondary storage battery (3), and that is for switching between the fuel cell ON mode and the fuel cell OFF mode; a fuel storage device (7) that stores fuel for the compact fuel cell (6); and a filling port (9) for filling the fuel storage device (7) with the fuel.
