Abstract:
An electric current sensor detects an electric current flowing through each of at least two electric current paths (40) individually, and is provided with at least two phases including a magnetism detection element (10) for sensing a magnetic field generated from an electric current path and converting the magnetic field to an electrical signal, and first magnetic shields (20, 21) and a second magnetic shield (30) as a pair disposed facing each other with the electric current route and the magnetism detection element interposed therebetween. In each phase, a first magnetic shield, an electric current path, a magnetism detection element, and a second magnetic shield are layered in this order, at least two phases are disposed in the direction orthogonal to the layering direction, a first gap (X1) is provided between the first magnetic shields of adjacent phases, and a second gap (X2) is provided between the second magnetic shields of adjacent phases. The first gap and/or the second gap is adjusted so that a leakage magnetic field from the first gap toward a magnetism detection element and a leakage magnetic field from the second gap toward the magnetism detection element cancel each other out, in order to prevent the leakage magnetic fields from reaching the magnetism detection element.
