An electric dust colleting apparatus is provided with a charging section (414) which charges particles in the air, a dust collecting section (416) which captures particles charged by the charging section, and a neutralizing section (404) which neutralizes the charged particles passed through the dust collecting section.  The charging section (414) is provided with a plurality of discharge wires (418) arranged in parallel on a surface orthogonally intersecting with the air flow direction, and board-like first counter electrodes (420) arranged at a predetermined interval at facing positions on the surfaces orthogonally intersecting with the air flow direction with the discharge wires (418) therebetween.  The neutralizing section (404) is provided with a neutralizing electrode (426) which generates ion shower of both polarities in a space in the neutralizing section (404), and a masking plate (417) which regulates the air flow so that the charged particles passed through the dust collecting section (416) pass through the space filled with the ion shower in the neutralizing section.
