Title:
ELECTRIC MACHINE, ESPECIALLY A THREE-PHASE GENERATOR WITHOUT A SLIP RING
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO1999017430
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to an electric machine, especially a three-phase generator with a fixed field winding (24), comprising a magnet wheel (19) that is firmly connected to the drive shaft (18). A rectifier unit is arranged inside the housing of said wheel magnet. The rectifier unit consists of an end shield (11), a plus cooling body (28) connected to said shield, a conductive baseplate (30) located adjacent to the cooling body and an electrical contact ring (34) connected to said baseplate. The outputs (U, V, W, X, Y, Z) of the field winding (34) of the stator are fixed on said ring in such a way that they can be disengaged. An essential requirement is that the contact ring should have four connection points (35 to 38) on which all four winding outputs are connected in such a way that (X and W) can be individually connected, (U and Y) can be connected together and (V and Z) can also be connected together, thereby enabling a simplified and functional structure of the three-phase generator.
