Abstract:
It is necessary, when starting an electric motor, for a control to be performed in estimating the rotation position, as an electric motor cannot be started quickly at high torque. When an electric motor 5 stops rotating, a control device 43 opens relays 2, 3 at time T2. Charge (power) remains in a capacitor 41, as shown in fig. 2(b), even after the relays 2, 3 are opened. The rotation position of the electric motor 5 is estimated according to the remaining power in the capacitor 41. Information on an estimated rotation position A° is held in a memory device in the control device 43. A vehicle is then stopped. Next, at time period T8, when the vehicle is next started, and charging of the capacitor 41 is complete, the control device 43 starts driving the electric motor 5, as shown in fig. 2(c), by driving an inverter circuit 42. When driving of the electric motor 5 is to be started, information on the rotation position A° is read out from the memory device in the control device 43, which makes it possible to rapidly drive the electric motor 5 at high torque.
