Abstract:
An electric motor driving device (1) is provided with: a connection switcher (50) that has electromagnetic contactors (51-53) configured to be connected to winding wires (2a-2c) of an electric motor (2) and that switches the connection state of the winding wires by changing the state of the electromagnetic contactors; an inverter (30) that applies an output voltage, which is an AC voltage, to the winding wires (2a-2c), via the connection switcher (50); shunt circuits (80, 90) that each include a rectifier circuit (81, 91) and a switch (82, 92); and a control unit (60) for controlling the electromagnetic contactors (51-53), the inverter (30), and the switches (82, 92). When the switches (82, 92) are turned on, a circulation circuit is formed by the shunt circuits (80, 90) and the winding wires (2a-2c), and the connection switcher (50) switches the connection state of the winding wires (2a-2c) in a period in which the output voltage of the inverter (30) is zero while the electric motor is in rotational operation, and in which a current generated by the rotational operation of the electric motor is circulating the circulation circuit.
