Abstract:
An electric motor (1) comprises: a commutator (30) having a plurality of commutator segments (31); a first energizing brush (41) and a second energizing brush (42) which are in contact with the commutator (30); and a first auxiliary brush (51) and a second auxiliary brush (52) which are in contact with the commutator (30). The first auxiliary brush (51) and the second auxiliary brush (52) are connected via a diode (80). The first auxiliary brush (51), when the first energizing brush (41) separates from one commutator segment (31), contacts two commutator segments (31) positioned rearward of the one commutator segment (31) in a rotating direction. The second auxiliary brush (52), when the second energizing brush (42) separates from another commutator segment (31), contacts two commutator segments (31) positioned rearward of the other commutator segment (31) in the rotating direction.
