An electric motor (100) comprises: a stator core (11); a rotor core (21); and a plurality of permanent magnets. The permanent magnets comprise: a plurality of first magnets (23A) the magnetic pole orientations (8) of which face the stator core (11); and a plurality of second magnets the magnetic pole orientations (8) of which face the rotor core. The first magnets (23A) include: a first magnetized section (24) magnetized so that the magnetic pole orientations (8) thereof are in a direction perpendicular to a central axis (C) of a core back; and second magnetized sections (25) magnetized so that the magnetic pole orientations (8) thereof are not in the direction perpendicular to the central axis (C).
