Abstract:
Provided are an electric power conversion device and an electric power conversion method in which switching loss is reduced. This electric power conversion device comprises a main circuit, an auxiliary circuit that is positioned between the main circuit and a power supply, and an inductor that is positioned between the main circuit and the auxiliary circuit. The main circuit is provided with a main-circuit high-side switch and a main-circuit low-side switch that are connected in series, and a first capacitor and a second capacitor. The auxiliary circuit is provided with one or more diodes and one or more switches. One end of the inductor is connected to a connection point between the main-circuit high-side switch and the main-circuit low-side switch, and the other end of the inductor is connected to the auxiliary circuit. Before the main-circuit low-side switch is turned on, the electric power conversion device alternately turns on an auxiliary-circuit low-side switch that is positioned on a lower-side circuit of the auxiliary circuit and a high-side diode that is positioned on an upper-side circuit of the auxiliary circuit, thereby energizing the inductor, adjusting the amount of change in an output current, and charging the first capacitor and the second capacitor.
