Abstract:
This electric power conversion device is applied to a system provided with a storage battery (20) and an electrical apparatus (51), the electric power conversion device comprising a three-level inverter (30), and a rotary electrical machine (10) having windings (13U, 13V, and 13W). The three-level inverter has a first power storage part (21), a second power storage part (22), and switches (SUH to SWL, QU to QW, and Su1 to Sw4). The positive side of the first power storage part is connected to a positive terminal of the storage battery, and the negative side of the second power storage part is connected to a negative terminal of the storage battery. The electric power conversion device also comprises: a connection unit (35, 62) that connects the electrical apparatus to the three-level inverter, the connection unit being electrically connectable to the storage battery via a neutral point between the negative side of the first power storage part and the positive side of the second power storage part; and a control unit (40) that, in a state in which the three-level inverter and the electrical apparatus are connected via the connection unit, controls switching of the switches in order to transmit electric power between the electrical apparatus and the storage battery.
