Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an electric power steering device that makes it possible to actively return a steering wheel to a neutral point in a travel state that returns travel to a straight travel state by calculating a return control current and compensating for a current command value. [Solution] An electric power steering device that is provided with a steering wheel return control unit that calculates a return control current using a turning angle, the vehicle speed, and a motor angular velocity/Gr ratio and drives a motor using a compensation current command value that is the result of subtracting the return control current from a current command value. The steering wheel return control unit is configured from: a base return control current calculation unit that calculates a base return control current; a target steering speed calculation unit that calculates a target steering speed; a return control gain calculation unit that determines the deviation between the target steering speed and the motor angular velocity/Gr ratio, performs encoding processing, and calculates a return control gain using at least two control calculations from among a P control calculation, an I control calculation, and a D control calculation; a limiter that limits the maximum value of the return control gain; and a correction unit that corrects the base return control current by the output gain of the limiter and outputs a return control current.
