Abstract:
In a control device (4) of an electric power steering device (1), a q-axis current command value calculating unit (31) for calculating a current command value of a motor (8) that generates an assisting torque is provided with a q-axis current limit value calculating unit (42) which calculates a q-axis current limit value such that if an absolute value of a steering angle is equal to or greater than a predetermined first steering angle threshold, the q-axis current limit value decreases as the absolute value of the steering angle increases, thereby regulating the q-axis current command value. As a result, steering to a maximum steering angle θmax is prevented, and impacts caused by end contact can be mitigated.
