An electric sewing machine includes a head (1), a machine frame, a motor controller (50), and a sewing machine power supply module (12). A needle is equipped at one end of the head, a motor (2) and a hand wheel (3) are in turn set at the other end of the head. Both the hand wheel (3) and the motor (2) are connected with the drive shaft of a transmission mechanism in the head. The needle is driven to move up and down through the transmission mechanism. The machine frame comprises a desk top (4) for supporting the head (1). The motor controller (50) controls the motor to work precisely. A position detection module (70) is arranged on the motor to provide information about rotating angle of the motor to a control system. The sewing machine power supply module (12) is installed separately with the motor controller (50). The sewing machine power supply module (12) supplies controlling power through a control power supply wire (13) and supplies power to the motor driving module in the motor controller (50) through a power wire (14). The sewing machine power supply and the motor controller are separately installed, so as to reduce the effect on the control signal caused by the power supply and increase control precision of the control system.
