Abstract:
The present application discloses an electric spindle (2). The electric spindle (2) comprises: a casing (4) including at least one cooling duct (70); a shaft (12) mounted so as to be capable of rotating relative to the casing, the shaft having a recess (14) for receiving a toolholder (16) and at least one cooling duct (72) opening into the recess; and a rotary union (74) comprising a portion (76) that is rigidly affixed to the casing and a portion (78) that is rigidly affixed to the shaft, the union enabling fluid communication between the duct of the casing and the duct of the shaft.
