Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of obtaining an electric vehicle that can save energy and reduce heat generation of a switching element. An electric vehicle according to the present invention is provided with: an engine 11; a first power generator 12 driven by the engine; a first rectification circuit 14 connected to the output of the first power generator; a first direct current line 16 to which a direct current output of the first rectification circuit is inputted; a travel motor 10 connected to the first direct current line; a power conversion device 20 that converts a voltage of the first direct current line; a second direct current line 34 to which a direct current output obtained from the voltage converted by the power conversion device is inputted; an auxiliary device 33 connected to the second direct current line; and a control device 40 that controls the power conversion device. The control device performs control such that, when a voltage Vi of the first direct current line is less than or equal to a first threshold value Vc, an output power Po of the power conversion device is set to a rated power P1, and when the voltage Vi is greater than the first threshold value, the output power Po is set to less than the rated power.
