Abstract:
An electrical soldering iron includes a power supply unit, an electric heating element, a temperature sensor, and a controller unit that controls electric power outputted from power supply to the electric heating element based on the signal of temperature. The invention is characterized in: the temperature sensor includes the thermocouple formed in a junction by a metal part integrated with the electrical heating element and another metal conductor; in the interval between twice supplying power to electric heating element, the thermocouple signal is detected that displays the temperature at the junction, and electric power supplied to the electric heating element next time is controlled based on the signal. If the electrical soldering iron and method thereof in the invention are applied, because the thermocouple in the heating element is formed by uniting the material of higher resistance with the material of lower resistance, and because heating alternates with temperature detection, not only the electrical heating element is integrated with the thermocouple for sensing temperature, but also the connection between heater/sensor and the controller only needs two wires. This especially adapts to an electrical soldering iron in which the volume is small and high requirement is needed for temperature control. And the invention also can be applied in other electrical soldering iron requiring temperature control.
