Abstract:
Provided is an electrical wire that is for use in communication and that, because of the influence of a sheath layer that includes a magnetic material and that is provided on the outer circumference of metal foil, is less susceptible to damage to the metal foil during bending. An electrical wire 1 for communication comprises: a conductor 2; an insulating layer 3 that contains an organic polymer and that covers the outer circumference of the conductor 2; metal foil 5 that covers the outer circumference of the insulating layer 3; and a magnetic sheath layer 7 that contains an organic polymer and a powdered magnetic material and that covers the outer circumference of the metal foil 5. The tensile elastic modulus of the magnetic sheath layer 7 is lower than that of the insulating layer 3. When an organic polymer having a melting point of 100°C or lower is defined as a low-melting point organic polymer, and the mass proportion of the low-melting point polymer among organic polymer components constituting the respective layers is defined as a low-melting point component proportion, the low-melting point component proportion in the magnetic sheath layer 7 is larger than that in the insulating layer 3.
