Abstract:
An electrically heated catalyst (1) has a honeycomb substrate (2), a carbon electrode (3), and a joining section (4). The honeycomb substrate (2) comprises a resistance heating element which has a lower electrical resistance than does SiC. The carbon electrode (3) is formed on the honeycomb substrate (2). The joining section (4) joins the honeycomb substrate (2) and the carbon electrode (3) to one another, and comprises a metal brazing material. It is possible to set the porosity of the honeycomb substrate (2) to less than 20%.
