Abstract:
In order to provide an initial drive power source for operating a control circuit from the point of initiating charging in the capacitor of an electricity storage unit in an electricity storage device using a capacitor such as an EDLC in the electricity storage unit, an electricity storage device is equipped with a control circuit for controlling, in an electrical storage device equipped with a main electricity storage unit using a capacitor, storage from a direct-current power source to the main electricity storage unit and discharge from the main electricity storage unit to a load, and is equipped with an auxiliary electricity storage unit that acts as the power source for the control circuit in the initial state in which the supply of power from the direct-current power source is initiated, wherein the electricity storage device is configured in a manner such that: a capacitor is used in the auxiliary electricity storage unit; the main electricity storage unit is connected to the direct-current power source via a make-contact switch for charging; and the control circuit initiates storage from the direct-current power source to the main electricity storage unit while initiating a prescribed storage control by supplying power from the auxiliary electricity storage unit and initiating operation once the interterminal voltage of the auxiliary electricity storage unit reaches at least the control circuit operating voltage and by subsequently closing the make-contact switch for charging.
