Abstract:
An electrochemical hydrogen pump according to the present invention is provided with: a cell comprising an electrolyte membrane, an anode disposed on one main surface of said electrolyte membrane, and a cathode disposed on the other main surface of the electrolyte membrane; and a voltage application device for applying voltage between the anode and the cathode. When the voltage application device applies said voltage, hydrogen in a hydrogen-containing gas supplied to the anode is moved to the cathode and is subjected to pressure increase. The pump is also provided with a controller that, in the case when there is an increase in the dew point of the hydrogen-containing gas to be supplied to the anode and/or in the temperature of the cell, regulates the voltage applied by the voltage application device so as to increase the electric current flowing between the anode and the cathode.
