Abstract:
The invention relates to electrochromic materials based on organic compounds. The proposed electrochromic compound consists of: di(dicarbaundecaborate)1,1'-dimethyl-4,4'-dipyridine or di(dicarbaundecaborate)1,1'-dibenzyl-4,4'-dipyridine as a cathodic component; a derivative of ferrocene or 5,10-dihydro-5,10-dimethylphenazine as the anodic component; and propylene carbonate as the solvent. The relative proportions (in percentages by weight) are as follows: (cathodic component) di(dicarbaundecaborate)1,1'-dimethyl-4,4'-dipyridine 0.4-3.6, or di(dicarbaundecaborate)1,1'-dibenzyl-4,4'-dipyridine 0.5-4.7; (anodic component) derivative of ferrocene 0.3-3.0, or 5,10-dihydro-5,10 dimethylphenazine 0.2-1.4; propylene carbonate the remainder. The proposed compound significantly increases the shelf life of the electroactive component(s).
