Abstract:

The present invention relates to an electrode assembly and a lithium secondary battery including the same, the electrode assembly comprising a cathode current collector, a cathode active material layer, a separation membrane, an anode active material layer, and an anode current collector, which are sequentially stacked, wherein: the cathode active material layer, the separation membrane, and the anode active material layer have a plurality of through-holes formed to pass therethrough; the cathode current collector includes a first sheet type current collector, and a plurality of first pillar type current collectors extending in the thickness direction of the current assembly from the first sheet type current collector and passing through some of the plurality of through-holes; and the anode current collector includes a second sheet type current collector, and a plurality of second pillar type current collectors extending in the thickness direction of the electrode assembly from the second sheet type current collector and passing through the remaining through-holes excluding some of the plurality of through-holes.
