Abstract:
One purpose of the present invention is to provide an electrode material whereby both the density and the electron conductivity of the electrode active material layer can be improved, and hence the charge/discharge performance of the electrode improved, and whereby cell capacity can be increased. Provided is an electrode material including electrode active material particles containing a transition metal lithium phosphate compound having an olivine structure, and a carbonaceous material, wherein the electrode material is characterized in that the carbonaceous material coats the electrode active material particles and binds together the electrode active material particles, and the electrode material includes agglomerates in which a plurality of the electrode active material particles coated by the carbonaceous material are agglomerated together, the the average compressive strength of the agglomerates being from 0.05 kgf/mm2 to 2.0 kgf/mm2 inclusive.
