The composite current collector (131) comprises a first metal layer (132, 232, 332, 432, 532, 632, 732, 832, 932), a second metal layer (135, 235, 335, 435, 535, 635, 735, 835, 935), and a polymer layer (136) sandwiched between the first metal layer (132, 232, 332, 432, 532, 632, 732, 832, 932) and the second metal layer (135, 235, 335, 435, 535, 635, 735, 835, 935).
