Abstract:
The present application provides an electrolyte and a lithium metal battery comprising the electrolyte. The electrolyte comprises a lithium salt, an organic solvent, and an additive. The additive comprises a sultam compound as represented by structural formula I, wherein R is selected from substituted or unsubstituted C 1-C 10 hydrocarbyl, and a substituent is selected from phenyl, C 1-C 6 alkyl, and C 1-C 6 alkenyl; X is a sulfur atom or a phosphorus atom; R 1 and R 2 are independently selected from an oxygen atom, a fluorine atom, a chlorine atom, a bromine atom, or substituted or unsubstituted C 1-C 10 hydrocarbyl, respectively, and R 1 and R 2 may not be oxygen atoms at the same time. The additive, the sultam compound, in the electrolyte of the present application contains a sulfonyl group, and an interfacial film composed of sulfate, lithium sulfonate, polysulfonimide, and the like can be formed on surfaces of both a positive electrode and a negative electrode. The interfacial film formed thereby has good ion conductivity, can facilitate reducing impedance of the battery, and can inhibit an excessive side effect between the positive and negative electrodes and the electrolyte, thereby improving the cycle performance of a battery.
