Provided is an electrolyzed water generating apparatus including: a first electrolytic cell; a second electrolytic cell; a trunk input flow channel; a cathode-side input flow channel; an anode-side input flow channel; a cathode-side relay flow channel; an anode-side relay flow channel; a trunk bypass flow channel; a cathode-side bypass flow channel; an anode-side bypass flow channel; and a flow-channel switching valve. The first electrolytic cell includes: a first cathode chamber; a first anode chamber; and a cation exchange membrane that partitions the first cathode chamber and the first anode chamber. The second electrolytic cell includes: a second cathode chamber; a second anode chamber; and a neutral partitioning membrane that partitions between the second cathode chamber and the second anode chamber and that allows cations and anions to pass therethrough. The flow-channel switching valve is switched to a first state in which running water is made to pass through the second cathode chamber and the second anode chamber after passing through the first cathode chamber and the first anode chamber or a second state in which running water is made to pass through the second cathode chamber and the second anode chamber without passing through the first cathode chamber and the first anode chamber.
