This electromagnetic contactor comprises: a fixed electromagnet (15); an operating coil (17); a movable electromagnet (16); a contact support section (50) that is fixed to the movable electromagnet, is drawn, together with the movable electromagnet, by the fixed electromagnet to a first side in a first direction when power is supplied to the operating coil, that moves, together with the movable electromagnet, to a second side in the first direction that is opposite the first side, away from the fixed electromagnet when the power to the operating coil is interrupted, and that has a window section (51h) that penetrates in a second direction that intersects the first direction; a movable contact (51c) that is installed in the window section; a contact spring (51s) that is compressed in the first direction, an end of the contact spring on the first side being fixed to an end of the window section on the first side, and an end of the contact spring on the second side pressing on the movable contact; and a spring fitting (51r) between the movable contact and the contact spring. The contact support section has recessed sections (51g, 51i) in the window section that are recessed in a third direction that intersects the first direction and the second direction.
