Abstract:
[Problem] To make it possible to increase the effective friction area between a rotor disk and an opposing plate or armature more than if the outer peripheral edge of the rotor disk is a true circle, even if a raised section occurs on the edge section of the rotor disk due to applying a coating, and to improve the torque performance of an electromagnetic friction device. [Solution] A coating 34 is applied to at least one surface of a rotor disk 30 disposed between an armature 20 and an opposing plate 24, and the rotor disk 30 has an outer peripheral edge 30B displaced radially inward or outward in relation to a true circle.
