Abstract:
An electromagnetic switch device for a stator is equipped with: a movable core; a primary attraction/holding coil; a resistor electrically connected to an upstream startup electrical contact; and an auxiliary attraction/holding coil electrically connected to the upstream startup electrical contact. In response to a startup signal the movable core displaces a pinion from a separated position to a contact position by means of magnetomotive force from the primary attraction/holding coil, and starting rotational force is generated in the motor by means of current flowing in the resistor. After the pinion is displaced from the separated position to the contact position the startup electrical contacts are placed in the electrically disconnected state, thereby shutting off current to the motor, and the movable core displaces the pinion from the contact position to an engaged position by means of the magnetomotive force of the primary attraction/holding coil and the magnetomotive force of the auxiliary attraction/holding coil. After the pinion is displaced from the contact position to the engaged position the primary electrical contacts are placed in the electrically connected state, thereby restarting the flow of current to the motor and generating primary rotational force, and the movable core holds the pinion in the engaged position by means of the magnetomotive force of the primary attraction/holding coil and the magnetomotive force of the auxiliary attraction/holding coil.
