Abstract:
An electromagnetic tripping device in this circuit breaker is provided with the following: a pushing member (64) that moves a moving contact (232); a moving core affixed to said pushing member (64); a coil (61) wound around said moving core; a yoke section (631) positioned radially outwards of said coil (61); and an arcing-horn section (632). If an abnormal current flows with the moving contact (232) in contact with a fixed contact (66), the coil (61) exerts, on the moving core, an electromagnetic force that separates the moving contact (232) from the fixed contact (66). The arcing-horn section (632) has the following: an opposing section (635) opposite the yoke section (631) on the side of the yoke section (631) facing away from the coil (61); and a curving section (65), on which the fixed contact (66) is provided, that connects the opposing section (635) and the yoke section (631) to each other.
