Abstract:
The present invention pertains to an electron multiplier and the like that effectively suppress light emission noise even when made compact. A diode in each stage is provided with a plurality of columnar sections having outer peripheral surfaces that are physically separated from each other. Each columnar section is processed into a shape wherein the circumferential length or area of a cross section parallel to the installation surface at which the electron multiplier is disposed reaches a minimum at any position on the outer peripheral surface of the columnar section.
