Abstract:

An electron tube (1) in which an insulating tube (9) projects toward the inside part of an enclosure (2). One end of the insulating tube (9) is connected to the enclosure (2), and the other end of the insulating tube (9) has an avalanche photodiode (APD) (15). A ground voltage is applied to the enclosure (2), and a high positive voltage is applied to the APD (15). Photoelectrons emitted by the light incident on the photoelectric surface (11) are converged by the electric field inside the enclosure (2), enter the APD (15), and are amplified and detected. Since the high positive voltage is not exposed from the enclosure (2), the handling is easy and the safety is high.
