Abstract:
A portable telephone has a monitor section (20) fixed rotatably to the body. Since the shaft part (106) at the monitor section (20) is not interlocked with the shaft part (112) of a damper member (110) before the monitor section (20) is opened by an angle 45° from full close state, no brake force is applied to rotation of the monitor section (20) during that interval and thereby the monitor section (20) can be opened speedily. Since the shaft part (106) is interlocked with the shaft part (112) of the damper member (110) when the monitor section (20) is opened over 45°, a brake force by the damper member (110) acts to open the monitor section (20) slowly.
