Abstract:
Provided is a novel electronic component having an electromagnetic shield. The electronic component having an electromagnetic shield includes a body portion of the electronic component and a coating layer which coats a surface of the body portion and functions as an electromagnetic shield. The coating layer comprises a layered material including a plurality of layers of which each layer is expressed by an expression: Mn+1Xn (where M is at least one of Group 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 metals, X is carbon atom, nitrogen atom, or a combination thereof, and n is 1, 2, or 3), where each X has a crystal lattice positioned in an octahedral array of M, and at least one of two opposing surfaces of each layer has at least one modification or a terminal T selected from the group consisting of a hydroxyl group, fluorine atom, oxygen atom, and hydrogen atom.
