Abstract:
An electronic control device for vehicles (13), comprising: a downloader (35) that instructs a download execution unit, that executes downloading whereby updated data is downloaded from an external source, to execute downloading; second execution instruction units (36–38) that instruct nodes to be updated to execute installation and activation processing, said nodes executing installation processing which installs updated data and generates updated software and activation processing which activates the updated software; and an execution request unit (34b) that sends execution requests for each update method, to a first execution instruction unit or the second execution instruction unit, and requests execution of downloading, installation, or activation, for each update method.
