Abstract:
An electronic device comprises a processor configured to: store data of a first file in a data area of a storage unit on a block-by-block basis; in response to an instruction to generate a second file corresponding to a part of the stored first file, store, in an information area of the storage unit, file information on the second file indicating the position of a first block corresponding to a part of the first file and usage information indicating a usage state in which the first block is used by at least one file; read data of the first block at the position indicated by the file information of the second file stored in the information area in response to an execution instruction of the second file; and change the usage information stored in the information area with respect to the usage state of the block of the first file including the first block in response to a deletion instruction of the first file, and store data of another file in the second block, excluding the first block, among the blocks of the first file according to the changed usage information. As such, a display device can maintain derivative content when deleting original content while minimizing consumption of storage capacity when generating the derivative content.
