Abstract:
A present electronic device comprises a display, an illumination sensor, a communication interface, an input/output interface, a memory, and a processor, and may: obtain information about illuminance of ambient light and communication signal strength by detecting the ambient light and a communication signal; identify an environment where the electronic device is located from among a standard measuring environment and an actual use environment, on the basis of the information about the illuminance of the ambient light and the communication signal strength; when the identified environment is the standard measuring environment, identify a standard of the environment where the electronic device is located, on the basis of the obtained information about the illuminance and perform a dimming operation of the display, which corresponds to the identified standard; and when the identified environment is the actual use environment, perform a dimming operation of the display, which corresponds to a user input.
