Abstract:
According to various embodiments, a portable electronic device comprises: a housing; a flexible display which is partially drawn into or out of the housing; a sensor which generates data used to determine an activation area in which the display is to be visually exposed to display information; a processor connected to the sensor and the display; and memory connected to the processor. The memory may store instructions which, when executed, cause the processor to perform the operations of: recognizing a change in the size of the activation area on the basis of the data received from the sensor while providing a first execution screen among a plurality of execution screens of an application through the activation area; providing a preview corresponding to a second execution screen among previews corresponding to the plurality of execution screens in response to the change in size, the preview being provided through the activation area together with the first execution screen; and providing the second execution screen instead of the first execution screen through the activation area after the preview has been provided. Various other embodiments are also possible.
