Abstract:
One embodiment of the present invention relates to a device and method for location detection in an electronic device. The electronic device comprises a sensor and a processor. The processor can: set a reference distance on the basis of first magnetic field information of a virtual marker through the sensor; obtain second magnetic field information corresponding to the location of the electronic device; restrict a comparison operation of the first magnetic field information and the second magnetic field information when the Euclidean distance based on the first magnetic field information and the second magnetic field information does not satisfy a specified detection condition based on the reference distance; and perform a comparison operation of the first magnetic field information and the second magnetic field information when the Euclidean distance satisfies the specified detection condition based on the reference distance. Other embodiments may also be possible.
