Abstract:

Disclosed according to embodiments are an electronic device and a method for operating same. The electronic device according to embodiments comprises: a communication interface; a memory for storing at least one instruction; and a processor for executing the at least one instruction stored in the memory, wherein the processor executes the at least one instruction and analyzes contents displayed on a display to recognize a channel for providing the contents, executes, in a background, a multistreaming service application corresponding to the recognized channel, requests a server for multistreaming service information related to the contents through the multistreaming service application, receives the multistreaming service information in response to the request, displays, on the basis of the received multistreaming service information, a user interface for indicating that a multistreaming service for the contents can be used, and activates and executes the multistreaming service application on the basis of a user input received in response to the user interface.
